The author's reflection: "Although the native peoples of the Pacific northwest of Canada and the USA “…lived in what we might regard as the Stone Age, the more we learn about their lives and beliefs, the more we come to question our own preconceptions. In the culture and life of these people, we pass over a threshold into a completely new world, a new universe and a new way of looking at things.”
